Women’s Worship

February 17, 2012

Our church has some very good teaching, not only from the pulpit, but from women as well. Women teaching other women the Word of God. The Anchor Study this year has been so good; we are studying 1Timothy and gaining a deeper love for the church. On my drive to tonight’s night of Women’s Worship, my sister shared how awesome her weekly college women’s worship experience in college was. And although I didn’t have the full experience since I was in the sound room running the powerpoint, I still saw the beauty of the Church tonight. The physical beauty of the women in our church young and old. The hugs and smiles shared with each other. The voices and music that were worshiping together as a church.

Two weeks ago during the sermon I realized (or God shared with me) that I am making this whole photography thing a bigger priority (even an idol) than it should be. I do love photography and I do think I am getting better and would like to continue to learn and grow a business. But I DO NOT want to put this before God and my family. That day in church I made the decision to seek out ways to glorify God through my photography. I don’t think it means I should take pictures of people singing, praying and of every old church on the corner. I don’t really know what it will look like. I just know that whatever we do, we should do it for the glory of God.
